This is my first song for my Ambient/Electronica/Chillout/Trip Hop project called “Ethereal”. The track is called “Elusive Abstractions” and I’m really satisfied with how it turned out for my first song!
The song is kind of lengthy to be honest, but I’d really appreciate it if you took the time to listen to the entire track, "liked" it, subscribed, shared it with your friends, left me some feedback, and also gave a like to the Ethereal Facebook page! I promise it will be worth your time!
The song will truly take your entire being on a journey! It’s full of beautiful soundscapes and pads, eerie synths, and a huge pounding beat behind it all!
YouTube kind of butchered the quality of the song, so please make sure to select "720p HD" for the quality instead of the standard 320p. There's also a higher quality version of the song up on my Bandcamp page too if you wanted to listen to that instead (Link is below).
Any replies would be very appreciated, thanks guys!

Cool synths but the percussion kills it for me...It's pretty flat and it seems like it is fluctuating in tempo, which is quite unsettling. Keep at it though!

Thanks a lot for the reply and the criticism man! I really appreciate it! I'll definitely try fixing the percussion issue on my next song! Do you think if you listened to in a higher quality, the percussion might not sound as flat to you?
Here's the Bandcamp link if you wanted to give that a try instead:
But when I put this song together, I wasn't using studio monitors :( But luckily I do have a pair I ordered that are coming in the mail within the next couple days, so that should help me a lot for future tracks. So for the mixing/mastering of this song, maybe I didn't do as good of a job on mixing the kick/snare as I thought I did since listening on the regular entertainment speakers might have given me a bad illusion for how it actually sounded to other people on different speaker systems.

Yeah, the drums are definitely not in time with the rest of the track. Other than that, this is a really nice piece - good use of melody and harmony. Definitely re-post once the drum issue is fixed!

Thanks so much for the reply and the very helpful criticism! I'll try working with the track and fixing the drums to make sure they are more in time with the pads, synths, and all of that. I'm really happy with the way the beat flows, so I might just try making the rest of the track in time with the beat instead, if you think that'd be a good route to go with it, to make everything timed better.
I'll definitely make sure to re-post it when I get to fixing it all up, thanks again for the reply!!!
