I went to Sean's boat party in Miami this past year and it was mostly 140ish bpm trance. I heard no dubstep and maybe one or two electro tracks.

These tracks are a few years old but I am pretty sure he has newer stuff that has this kind of sound. Think most of his tracks like this are 138 bpm+. Check out his non vocal stuff on beatport:

Activa has just started moving into psytrance this year but his latest productions should be like this.

Bosh trance doesn't seem right for a boat party, somehow.

I don't really give a about bpms but I do miss the hard trance style from 10 years ago. Most high bpms uplifting trance sounds so boring and dull and over-compressed its not funny. The cheap commercial dance that Armin and his gang plays at a lower bpm is even worse.

Woah woah woah......when did ST ever do anything with dubstep? And he's done what, two electro-ish prog house songs? That doesn't mean he's completely changing his sound, he's just trying something different.

cool....this is exactly what I meant, the BPM doesn't matter it was merely me trying to describe it, I could have said "Gatecrasher but without the cheese".....that Activa track is pretty good - thanks will have a look around

Eh, at this point it was nearing the end of WMC. Most people's brains were too fried from the constant drugs and alcohol to care.

For what i've heard he now starts his sets at 130bpm electroish stuff a 2 hour trance set at 140bpm is not really a set but the electro stuff hardly mixes well with the epic stuff he used to play.

By the way he experimented a bit with dubstep, i like the outcome, a tech trancer with a dubstep break.

I adopted the term 'Discover Trance' for this style after hearing a few other people say it.

Discover is now A&Rred by Activa since John Askew went to Perfecto, and as someone has already mentioned Activa is moving towards psy and tech at the moment. I'm definitely not complaining though. His recent Luminosity Beach party set is pretty good listening.

Holy dude, where have you been? Everyone is doing that nowadays. Go through enough uplifting trance, tech trance, prog house, hard dance, and hardcore, and you will hear it.

Rodri Santos
no yeah i know is not something new i've done myself but he said that he would experiment with dubstep in the future as he finds it interesting.
freakster
keep saying it but christopher lawrence and j00f are the two best out there.
