Looks ridiculous.
If you're not up on the angle, Propellerheads have made a Software Development Kit available that will allow 3rd parties to make fully integrated plug-ins for the Reason platform. With the recent upgrade to version 6, it's now a fully integrated DAW in its own right; albeit minus VST compatibility. |

I am a very cynical of most marketing relationships but, I've gotta say, I'm in love with this product and its manufacturer. I still use SONAR (and I'll upgrade to the current version, eventually) for sound-design (drums, stabs, core samples, et al) and to tidy up finished tracks but, by and large, I'm going to venture that 90% of my work is being done in Reason.
What it lacks in GUI slickness (the sequencer window, as RANN has pointed out, is somewhat hideous), it more than makes up for in terms of workflow compatibility with the creative process. |

| from Reason 4 it went downhill imo, the sequencer and the multiple unreziseable windows is pretty stupid after that, and the record + midi is terrible. I havent looked at Reason 6,5 but I believe these are still issues. Its a pitty cause i really loved the instruments (synths, samplers & efex), really hope they come as AUs/VST at some time. I dont like that they have to make their own new standard for 3rd party instruments. They dont focus on fixing Reasons issues, but rather add new things that are easy to sell. I sold my license 6 months ago not looking back - it was an awesome ride though, made tons of tracks in Reason 3. |

I agree, its become unusable and somewhat bloated for my screen. Reason 4 is awesome. |
