Live sets. How do you run yours?

Within the next 1-2 years I intend on building a liveset, as I continue to learn and get my productions to higher quality that is
Live sets are a bit confusing to me, as I know of a producer around here, Novatron, who does all live bassically, and its hard to wrap my head around what he does. He has a series of boxes consisting of electribes, kaos pads and some other pieces, and he has a very crude loop he built previously, then he continues to add on and jam out new in a live manner and he is really skilled at it and has a great fan base now.
What I want to do, as i have a friend who did this, is to build a portable rig, mostly out of aluminum framing, have my computer built into the bottom of the rig, have a screen on the back of the rig, run ableton and play out my tracks in session (as I already produce in session and record into arrangement) live, launching scene by scene through out the whole track(s), and assign and route some effects to my midi controller, maybe pick up a kaos pad to jam out some interesting effects live on it. MY only resistance to this is it really doesnt seem all to "Live", and it is a bit of a challenged to get booked running in such a manner, unless I want to just play at big renegade parties and maybe some festivals in the distant future.
How do you run your live set? any tips or opinions or comments on playing live sets is much appreciated...very new to venturing into live sets. I've produced for little over a year and half now, just producing, not doing to much live performing unless im just jamming out some filter automation or things like that. |

Say what?
You want a setup for DJing via ableton, or want to have a live act setup?
For a live act set, the simplest way would be a very powerful laptop(doesn't have to be, actually, if you just export elements of your tracks as audio, leaving only a few vsts), which is also very reliable, packed with a solid and flexible usb sound card, and for performing, a simple setup of a midi keyboard, maybe a pad controller and ofc one with a lot of sliders & knobs.. If you're high budget, there's no limit, this is just a most basic setup IMO. |

oh yeah...laptops. lol. yeah live set, I have no desire to dj at all. In ableton you can flatten all your elements into .wav files with in ableton, which gets rid of cpu eating effects racks and vsts. pretty useful in doing a live act. |

Well, if you want to carry your bigass desktop computer to/from stage and risk damage, go ahead. |

Does not look like if he was killing the venue. There are some details in the photo that are win win.
They guy with the cap at the very left is on hard . The guy next to the lighter guy is there like "i am next to the dj but this is ing boring" Next to him there is other like "Orly''??"
The girl: "Should i ask him for a date?"
To be honest never liked Sasha too chilling stuff he rarely played/play anything really danceable. |

"Live" in an EDM context only implies the fact that somebody only plays their own tracks, it says nothing about the degree of "liveness". Also, most big EDM "live acts" rely on Ableton and only make rather slight changes to the arrangement and details while playing. |
