A song inspired by the restless, disjointed thoughts that race through the brain at 4am in the morning, Above & Beyond's "On My Way To Heaven" is an existential rant that is typical of a band that looks well beyond the EDM status quo for its lyrical inspiration. Drawing off of that theme, the "super group" (as recently described by MTV News) looked well beyond the traditional in their next music video.

"Someone told me recently that the lyrics to 'On My Way To Heaven' sound like a Shakespearean soliloquy set to music," said Tony McGuinness. "It's a wonderful thought, and very flattering. So the idea of casting a well-known Shakespearean actor in the video to realize that idea was just too tempting. My first choice was Steven Berkoff - he does unhinged better than anyone - and incredibly, he said yes. It's a nightmare come true."

Steven Berkoff (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, A Clockwork Orange, The Krays) is cast as the tortured Shakespearean thespian that he has played so many times in his career. The video sees a typical Berkoff performance of the song's cathartic stream-of-consciousness lyrics - struggling with the internal demons that the song describes. As Berkoff's soliloquies and the play's action both rise in drama, the video reaches a climactic moment of release; every bit as emotional as the track's breakdown itself.

The video recently premiered around the world on RollingStone.com. You can now share, embed and watch the video on Above & Beyond's YouTube Channel.

"On My Way To Heaven" (feat. Richard Bedford) is the latest single to be released of of Above & Beyond's esteemed Group Therapy album, and includes the hugely popular, previously unreleased "Above & Beyond Club Mix." The emotional track has been featured heavily in Above & Beyond's sets on their North American Tour. It was also included in the Group Therapy Miami video.

okay.. my review

video : Brilliant

Music : Typical sidechaining and compression but with the annoying stabs. from 14 seconds to 47 i was forcing myself to listen to it. the vocals seemed to be warped in the bpm and don't feel humanly. very robotic. i believe this should have been a song where vocals lead the beat not vice versa. then at 49 this song catches a break with the piano element. with them it made the video somehow bearable to continue listening. at 1:16 this thing becomes frisson. fantastic. proper AnB gem. at 2 minute mark the kick is introduced solo and it ing rocks. proving that the compressed sidechaining in the begginning was what triggered annoyance to me. then at 2:30 stabs start coming in. instantly i realize that this thing will go electro annoying fast. and ofcourse AnB go there. Seriously couldn't tell if they or guetta is producing now. and then the comp sidechaining kick drum starts to play together with the annoying stabs. i lost it here. i wanted to punch the comp screen. but i enduring it all the end so i don't miss anything else from this video. Nope!

Overall total crap except between 1:16 - about 2:30. Unfortunately that small breakdown is enough now-a-days to excite people and with the perfect marketing team AnB has i suspect this thing to blow up fast. Marketing will definitely help boost this song.
