I did fight all my tickets..Its just that i missed a payment somewhere along the line..I had 2 tickets in my whole driving career..They were big speeding tickets..but just 2..

So now im a high risk over a non payment..Me thinks system broken somewhere ..
I was a non risk with 11 points on my record..Now i have no point and im high risk...NICE.

hahaha are you a lawyer on the side Mike?

My office is downtown, near Richmond and Church. However, I'm not always there and just use it as a home base because I'm in different courthouses everyday. Where are you these days?

I actually enjoy going to court and just observing things. I think i might do law after I'm done teaching, i do love it!

Maybe the funniest thing I saw was once a JP threw out an entire docket of tickets because the crown was taking their sweet ing time dealing with ONE charge for something like an hour and an half.
So, court time winds up and the JP was just so pissed that he threw out all the tickets that hadn't yet been called. Ha!

Which courts are you usually around? I try to make a point of checking out a few sessions a summer. I live right at church and dundas, so whenever the mood strikes, I wander over to old city hall at some point to take it in.

points mean NOTHING to insurance companies. zero.
they don't give a about demerit points, those things are purely an artifice of licensing law, not insurance rates. you have to understand how insurance works both in terms of your rates, and how to go about defending yourself in court.

and while i don't know how you went about defending those tickets, the very least you should do is what Lisa and I outlined here.

It's definitely fun. Just make sure you work for the defence and not the Crown :p

As an articling student I was mostly at College Park and Metro West in Etobicoke. However, now I'm pretty much everywhere. I've been in Brampton and in Superior Court at 361 mostly. I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm at OCH though!

Spot on advice... Back in my speeding days it took hours and hours of research and digging to learn what you summed up in a few paragraphs.

not true. the ministry retains records for 2 years and insurance companies 3 years.

Actually that's not true. MTO records show convictions up to 3 years max.

How is it even possible to get 2 tickets, and over 2k in fines?
