Since there was a sale on SF flights I was looking to see if there was any news about LovEvolution and I saw this announcement on their website
(sorry if this is old news to any of you).
http://www.sflovevolution.org/
The Love Team regrets to announce there will be no major love event in 2012. For this year’s event, we were committed to coming back to San Francisco. We were in extended negotiations with the city for a parade down the Embarcadero and a July date at the lot at ATT Park. These talks took much longer than expected, and as these things finally fell into place, the artists were not available and the time was too short to risk a subpar event. Coming back strong in 2013 is our highest priority and we look forward to bringing the love back where it all started in the summer of 2013. |

2011 was terrible so
needs to be in SF or not at all. the organizers did a piss poor job last year, and showed they arent capable of organizing the event in a new location |

This is good news in the end if you look at it. They got back in good graces with SF if there were able to get to a point where they could tell people to start working on booking talent, but it was just too late.
This means they should have a much easier time getting everything set for next year, and it will be back in the city -- where it belongs. I love the parade route the first year when it went along the Bay/Embarcadero. The final location isn't as pretty, but that doesn't bother me --- it's about the music!
BRING IT ON. |

I was wondering what was going on since there hasn't been any news about an event in Sept/Oct. Sucks :(
But its for the best. Last years Oakland event was a disaster. Bring it back to SF and make it free/donation again. |

100% agree with DaveT.
...doesn't change the fact that I'm dissapointed, but with no word of any sort to this point, you could see this coming.
While I had fun last year, the event was a shell of itself and with a full year to regroup for a solid event in SF next year, I think this was a smart choice. Especially, as Dave said getting back into a partnership with The City.
Looking forward to it already. |

I liked the Oakland Oracle spot, but I do agree that the Civic Center was getting way too crowded for what the event grew into.
Glad they're looking to have it along the Embarcadero and have the party at the ATT Park lot! They did that at the first SF LoveParade in 2004, and that area was perfect. So much space!
It would be awesome if SKILLS/Spundae did their afterparty at the piers, like ETD POPsicle 2004 :D |
