DJ BIOGRAPHIES_

OLIVER LIEB.
Frankfurt based DJ & producer Oliver Lieb was born in 1969. Since 1988 he is involved in the production of electronic music. No matter if it‘s Techno, House, Electro or just "electronic music“, within 20 years and the release of more than 250 singles including remixes for Faithless, Moby, Snap, Yello, Human League, Mory Kante, Utah Saints to name a few.

Oliver made it into the premier league of international Producers back in the late 90's. He always keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity. At the age of 14 he started playing bass in several Funk/Soul/Jazz bands. Oliver also got in touch with electronic music (Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk,Yello, Jean-Michel Jarre) and discovered a new and an endless horizon of expressing himself.

In late 1989 Oliver’s first record FORCE LEGATO“System” got released by Dorian Gray resident DJ Torsten Fenslau on his Abfahrt label. The single gained great worldwide reactions and almost hit the official German charts.

In the years to follow Oliver released everything in the electronic genres from downtempo and chill-out to hard experimental techno and trance. His project Spicelab on Sven Väth’s legendary Harthouse label established a platform for his highly appreciated sounds, which developed into one of the most important projects of the label including the release of three full length album releases.
Soon it was clear that Oliver’s creativity was far away from reaching it’s limits and as Oliver never wanted to focus on just one specific genre he simply created several pseudonyms for each of his different styles. His LSG and Paragliders releases on Superstition Rec. are still considered as one of the most influencing and timeless trance projects and were developed for more than 10 years and 5 Albums.

His maxis and albums got licensed on Hooj Choons, Yooshi, Platipus, Duty Free, Magic Muzic and many others. After leaving Superstition in 2004 it was time for doing something new especially since the whole music scene went through big changes and somehow redefined itself. After locking himself into his studio to create new sounds and going into all kind of different directions Oliver announced the start of his own label “Maschine” in summer 2005 which is distributed worldwide by “Neuton” and online exclusively through Beatport and released his first single “Solieb- Circus Maximus” in July. The reactions were great and two more maxis followed until the end of 2005. Maschine is about to turn into a main source for high quality forward electronic music and grabs more and more peoples attention.

In 2007 Oliver started a new company doing mastering and cutting vinyl. After all this was a logic step since he is known for a very high sound standard on his own productions and so he added some high end analog mastering gear to his studio to guarantee sound quality enhancement also for his clients.
After the endless process of planning, constructions and moving in to the new studio and finally focusing on the new company he took a bit of a break from producing and djing -also to focus on a new sound and directions.

In 2010 Oliver started a new label Solieb Digital at Beatport to re-release his old music after re-mastering and polishing the tracks. So far his Recycle or Die release as well as Paragliders Lithium EP, two albums from Spicelab and just now the L.S.G. - Blueprint EP were released, LSG – The Black Album and many more are following soon.

Since late 2010/early 2011 Oliver has started working again on new productions. The first release Parallax was an exclusive track for John Digweeds Structures two CD followed in July by the Oliver Lieb - Epsilon Eridani EP - both on Bedrock.
After upgrading and changing his studio setup in Summer 2011 he also appeared as a remixer again starting with Ioan Gamboas "Butterfly Effect" on Somebodys Story Music. In January 2012 there was a remix for Davide Cali on Reiz Musik, followed in February by a remix for Microtrauma "Aktin" on Microtonal.

End of February 2012 was a mix cd out on Bedrock by Oliver Lieb & Jimmy van M. "The Audible Suspects" followed by a few original releases and to be continued.

GWILL MORRIS.
Gwill Morris was thrust into the limelight of the music scene when he was picked by Mixmag as one of the "Stars for 2001". His Production alias "Main Element" is known to many, the first outings Hedfuk and Delta of Venus earning inclusions on Nick Warren's Global Underground Compilation as well as Lucien Foort's Singularity, not to mention Multitude of American Compilations. He followed that up with Fuktities on a smaller label " Midset" earning acclaim from Mike Truman "Hybrid" who proclaimed it his "Tune of Miami" in 2001. Since then his Production career has gone from strength to strength. Solo productions Generation, and Narcosis were well received, and production vocal number "Take Me Down" appeared on Sasha and Digweed Essential Mix from Miami, rumour has it that Sasha was overheard proclaiming it THE tune of the Delta Heavy tour, and not to forget the "James Holden" Balance CD favourite "Gill Norris - Forme". Remix offers soon after rolled in from Labels including Bedrock, Additive, Polyester, Vapour, Automatic and Deviant.

Other Productions credits include Ogenki Clinic - First Light / Kirei, with his partner in production crime James Holden, described by Mixmag as "The best Progressive House Tune Ever!". Ogenki Clinic mix of Ashtrax- Digital Reason took the Progressive & Trance clubs by storm worldwide. He was also part of the trio that Produced the much acclaimed Future Sound Collective.

Anyone who has seen him perform behind the decks will know that his ability is not limited to the studio. His career spans back for years beyond his forays into production : " I had been DJing for years before i started producing and still think of myself as a DJ first and foremost. I think it's what i do best." His Sets are consistently well Programmed and betray his ability to connect with the crowd : " I think DJing is all about watching and getting into the mindset of what the crowd are into, im not interested in DJ's who just play what they like and crap on about educating people. You go to a club to dance and have a good time". He varied tastes and tight mixing have seen him provide everything from Deep House to Progressive House, Trance & Techno in clubs including ( The Limelight "Newyork", Q-Bar and Zone "Melbourne", Sounds "Sydney", NO-UFO! "Berlin", Bedrock, Ministry Of Sound and Elements "London".

Yeah, I thought you lived in America. Good to hear you're coming over for a while ;)
SYSTEM-J
Argh. Just found out that Hernan Cattaneo is playing at Sound Control in Manchester on the same night. There hasn't been a decent night around here for two months, and soon as September hits you get two brilliant line-ups on the same night!
