Having seen the tracklist I obviously didn't download it, but I wanted to check out his intro after you said that.

| Lunar Phase 7 |
Well like most he has lost his way.
He's trying to include some new sounds and keep things like they were "back in the day" but it's gone.
Essential mix in itself is now these days anyway, but what were the man's choices?
a. Play loads of classics like he does live (Seven Cities, etc.) And get's bashed for using the same 12 records for every set.
b. Play commercial trouse and sound like every DJ on the planet right now.
c. Play modern epic trance and send everyone to sleep with tinnitus from the over compression and click kick.
Yeah it was poo, but I fail to see how else he could have done it really. He is know for a sound, that sound has long gone so he found tunes that kind of relate to that feeling and went for it. |

But there is loads of good trance around there days; he has even been known to play the odd decent track recently. |

Or he could just play some real ing Trance? It's not like Oakenfold is some new guy trying to break into the scene. He is at a point where he has enough money and fame do to whatever the hell he wants. |

puzzled me too. one moment he some psy-ish stuff and then mix straight into some really cheesy stuff. there also were parts where every single track had vocals. a bit annoying. |

| Oakenfold seems like he's trying to play on two sides right now... the commercial side and the "Full on Fluoro" side. Taken separately, they're both good for what they are (not a fan of the commercial stuff, but eh)... However, when you try to use both in the same set (and go back and forth) it just doesn't really work. |

Play the good stuff he's been supporting recently, and -can all the cheesy bollocks? As expected, Oakenfold's bull about going underground and bringing trance back doesn't stack up. |
