affirmative. had a few vocals tracks i wasn't too crazy about (including one with a chick singing it live, was eh) but on point all night of course. the last 45 minutes were straight fuego.
loved the venue for a dance show too. i could actually feel the AC (at least in the beginning), the set up was cool and the crowd size was good - plenty of people but not packed. |

Awesome! I'm driving in from CT tonight... see you at JoC? |

| Markus is literally the most down to earth of all the big names. As soon as his set ended he came down and signed autographs and took pictures for 20 minutes. I got my ticket signed :D |

this. during WMC - coldharbour night, khomhas set - he was in the crowd shoulder to shoulder with everyone taking pics and passing around a huge bottle of goose.
my buddy went up to him and goes "markus, i love you man." markus responds, "but dude, i havent even done anything yet." |

Ahhh wish I stayed down there! I was just so tired from two full days of EZ and the Full on Ferry last night I wanted to go home and go to sleep lol.
There was definitely a little bit of cheese, but a lot of fine wine to go along with it too. For the most part I'd say the last two hours were bangin'!
Btw, wasn't he supposed to come on at 1200 and not 100? Not that I don't like Khomha, but I thought Markus was supposed to be on for four hours.
As for the venue, I think they upgraded since the last time I was there (or it was just Markus' setup). The AC and the seats were definitely nice for the first bit I was there. |

He was supposed to go on at 1 always I think. They had to account for all the festival goers actually getting there.
And yeah those seats were clutch although every time I sat down he would pull out a banger and I'd have to get up again haha. |

Yeah your right. I thought the party started at 10 but it started at 11 which gave Khomha only a two hour set. That makes more sense. I could've swore I saw it was 10-12 and 12-4, but oh well. Certainly all good anyway!
I started in the seats and ended up on the dance floor haha. I didn't think I'd have the energy or pain tolerance for that. The AC was marvelous too. |

Have to give my 2 cents worth, esp since I can contrast this set verses his 6 hour LA Avalon set from 2 weeks ago.
As Armitage350 suggested, Markus took it easy on us. More ¡§Scream¡¨ tracks, more lyrical and less hard bass pounding tracks. Where were all those great Dakota tracks released last year? He never seemed to get into a grove. From 3 to 3:30 there def was some experimental tracks dropped. The sound wasn¡¦t bad but too soft. In LA, you could feel the bass! He has a solid hour of hard core unicorn slaying beats in Avalon, almost half that here.
Lights and visuals were just OK. No smoke or lasers! ƒ¼
Avalon had lasers all night and would cool us off with cold smoke every 30 min or so.
Gotta say that the ppl at Best Buy were cool. No issues and ppl respected your personal space. Not at Avalon! Loved the bathrooms and a few ppl took advance of the seats but not me.
I def wasn¡¦t disappointed but wanted a little more from the venue and Markus. |

Lasers really don't seem to appear much in NY. D36 had them the last two times I was there but that's it.
Personally I was expecting a little less than the normal set that Markus puts out because it was an album release party. I expected him to mix in some new stuff with the usual and didn't think in three hours he'd have all the time to build one of those awesome sets he's known for.
Overall though Khomha was great again and Markus delivered so I wasn't dissappointed in the least bit. If you want more of that Avalon-type set, definitely catch one of his gigs at Pacha when he goes 5-6 hours. You will not be disappointed. :)

Sets like that are hard to find. I don't think they were broadcasted on any major media places like Sirius, AH.FM, etc. so I dunno if it will be available. |
