| 320 kbps is plenty high quality. If you try to claim you can tell the difference between 320 and FLAC, you're full of . I'm not downloading a mix of this size. Re-upload it with 320 kbps or you won't be getting very many listens here. |

| This didn't really do anything for me. Despite the name "Warmth" from the title, I didn't get that feeling from the tracks at all. They were superficial, flat, and generally pretty boring. Nothing stuck out as a killer track, and there wasn't much progression, with the exception of a relatively poor full-on track at the end. There was no depth here. I wouldn't really consider 2003 to be a year of great psytrance, especially with this sound, so this mix wasn't successful in my opinion. However, your mixing wasn't bad so I'll look forward to your next installment. |

first of all i tried to create more mixed VA-compilation then a simple mix, so i used tracks from the very beginning and to their ending. this is why sometimes mix sounds boring.
and this is the first mix of the series "Warmth", the last mix will have the name "Warmth.2013". the year 2003 is not the year of some special psytrance, this is the year when my favorite label Zenon Records released their first compilation, so i decided to start my series from the 2003.
and the last one, may be you like exactly FullOn sound of psychedelic, the dancing sound? in my opinion the sound of this tracks are very deep, progressive, with a little bit techno and first of all with a live instruments. but in 2003 tracks had a bad mastering & mixing at record-studious for the standards of 2012.
also if you have got some free time, i want you to listen my old mix recorded for psychic radio station

Well, no, it sounded boring because the basslines were non-existent and there were no sound structures that were unique at all. I know that the Zenon sound back in 2003 was almost brand new, and it hadn't been perfected yet. I think the concept of the mix in general was flawed, because there were very few good tracks with this sound during that time.

Honestly, that still doesn't make much sense why you'd call it "Warmth" when the tracks do not embody any feeling of warmth at all. If anything, it should be called "Cold", because the sound is hollow and empty.

thank u for your estimation, i agree with most of your words
yeah, u know this is my strange russian idea :D i want to show the progression of the warmth - in the 2003 there are a little bit of the warmth and to the 2012 it will be a lot of the warmth) this is symbolic, i want to show the growth of psy-progressive style. as u know this style was born in the 1999-2000, but it was more techno, psytech sound. and to the 2005-2007 psyprog became a really morning light music.
but i had made a mistake, it would better if i post my mix with two future mixes "warmth.2004" & "warmth.2005"
but i still hope that some people will enjoy this sound) |
