Is this product really what it all cracks up to be? It sometimes seems to be since alot of PRO High Profile Djs these days use them. And when they use them, do they use two or one?\

How much do these babies goes for anyways without getting riped off
jdat
it's awesome

runs for about 1000 bucks

they're awesome... i wish i had the money... and as jdat said,.. they're about 1000 (to 1200) bucks a pop...
yeah, they seem to be the thing to get. the majority of clubs and djs seem to be using them, and when they get used, the number of cdjs they use depends on whether the dj is mixing into a song that's on a cd or on vinyl...
hey cheggy
One things for sure, its the biggest damn discman i ever saw.

They released the cdj800, which is much more affordable and has most of the nice features of the 1000's (and not the gadget ones, like the waveform). If you're a "normal" dj (as in, not owner of a club or not Bill Gates), I'd reccomend them over the 1000's.

link to the cdj800? i wanna see the specs and price for it. also how it looks like.

i like units that are small. the 1000 model is large and takes up unncessary space. Like someone said, its one damn big discman :D

Yes!

These are everything they're cracked up to be. I have had mine for about 6 months now, and I absolutely love them. Size isn't an issue.. they're still smaller than regular 'tables.

I got 2 cdj1000's and a djm600 for around $2600 back in April. I thought it was a pretty good deal :)

That cdj800 looks killer! An Mp3 capable cdj1000 minus some of the "turntablist" features. What do they go for anyway?

wow the thing looks really nice and the features look to be as much as the cdj1000. It is just 79 bucks less than the cdj1000 (my deal is anyways).

but which of them still has the most features? 1000 or 800?

The 1000s have more options by far. Allowing wave display gets you closer to the mix. Unless you KNOW every track you play backwards and forewards on CD, the wave display gives you direction. The 1000s also have memory capability so you can store cue points on CDs. I think you can set like three cue points for a track. It is a big toy and I am saving to get two!! That time can't come any quicker!

I was thinking about getting 1000's, but now the 800's came out I'm definately not going for the 1000's. The wave display is pretty useless to me, if you're competent enough, you shouldn't need it. After a while you'll know how tunes are constructed, so even if it's one you never played, you'll know when to drop in the mix.
The hot cuepoints also, could be useful to some people, don't see what it would do good for me, besides there are some flaws with the memory management (losing cuepoints on certain occasions). The digital out also shuts of when using effects and pitch.
The 800 has all the useful functions (still 0.05% pitch precision), the digital out always works, and imo not too much gimmicks.

Keep in mind the price the 800 goes for now is because it's new. The 1000 was $1500 when it came out, you can get it for much less now.

And if you want the ultimate tabletop, most features etc, I suggest you look for the new Denon tabletop, it has most of the features of the CDJ1000, and some new ones, including a motorized platter...
