I think you'll like "In Our Time", specially if you're a fan of "Thinking Allowed". "Philosophy Bites" is also very interesting, and "Philosopher's Zone" is another good podcast if you're into philosophy.
I don't know if you're aware of this but the "Reith Lectures" are all available for download on BBC's website... and there's loads of stuff on Itunes U that is Ivy League quality. |

For lectury type stuff theres plenty in the iTunes U like lira already said.
As for comedy i used to really like Keith and the girl.
For middle ground between the two theres The infinite monkey cage with Brian Cox and StarTalk radio with Neil deGrasse Tyson, though Tysons cohost is so annoying in her ignorance that its sometimes literary painful to listen. And i was sure i was subscribed to a podcast by Michio Kaku as well, but i cant find it right now...weird. |
