Encoding a sound file in any higher sampling rate / bitrate than the original would be a waste of space and would not increase quality, not to mention that re-encoding files that have already been encoded through lossy (mp3 / realaudio) compression usually results in very poor sound quality.
In order to encode higher than 56Kbit in WinAMP, you need to get an external MP3 codec - Radium released a cracked version of the Frauenhofer codec ... so you might want to look for that. |
