IC 1848 and IC 1805 are two nebulae shown above that are commonly referred to as Heart and Soul Nebula (heart: right, soul: left). Originally I was considering naming this mix after a supernova, but rather than focusing on star death I changed the theme to star birth. In an astronomical sense, a starburst galaxy refers to a galaxy that is undergoing a process of an incredibly high rate of star formation. The Heart and Soul Nebulae contain large cavities that were carved out by radiation and winds from the region's most massive stars, giving them triggered star formation. The carving out of these cavities pushes gas together, causing it to ignite into successive generations of new stars. This system can be viewed almost as a star nursery, where the clouds of gas and dust are undergoing intense nuclear fusion and creating brand new star clusters.
The tracklist is probably fairly obvious to most of you, especially those of you who have heard me on TA Radio. This mix features a whole arsenal of colossal progressive psytrance blasters. I'd like to thank Dr. Mundus, Atmospheric Energy, and PsyScape for exposing me to these awesome tunes.

| I listened to this this morning, right on! Made the walk to work fly by. I tried to listen closely so I could give you some detailed feedback but I found it hard to stop my mind getting lost in the music and wandering  |

Nice set mate - right up my street.
Sacred Earth is such a cool track - I thought it was weird when I first heard it, but it just seems to intrigue me more with each listen for some reason. Also, the mix you did into Dark Matter was wicked |

Ah... finally some vacation time. I have scurried off to the beach, because life was getting too hectic. I'm very pleased to see people enjoying my mix :)
Eurofix, I know how you feel, on some of the tracks. I think Mr.Fix is a bomb track and Izolan is pretty good but I shouldn't have played The Free Man, and Miniballistic was kind of a cop-out. Even though those tracks aren't bad per se, I should have dug a little deeper for better tracks in those two positions, especially closing out a mix like that. Thanks for listening, though.
Dave, hey glad you liked it! Did you ever hear that breaks mix I linked you?
Magnetonium, thanks for listening :)
Jon, yeah Sacred Earth is kind of a weird track, but I think it fits very well there. That bassline starts to get enormous and then mixing in Dark Matter right after that was excellent. I think the best transition in the set is from Sundown Answers to Synapse. Thanks for listening!
Hope it tickles some more fancies out there  |

I liked this mix a lot Nick.
Good transitions, nice selection, very powerful tracks I must say. The BPM is definitely not in the slower part of the spectrum. A lot of energy in the set! I can't really distinguish any particular track, most of these are unknown to me. But there wasn't any that I didn't like, they were all good!
Thanks for the share! :) |
