I went to a Steve Aoki concert and he threw cake on my face. I've been hooked to "EDM" since.

I got into 'EDM' with The Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Juno Reactor, and The Prodigy in the late 90's. Introduced to trance in the early 2000's.

Haven't looked back since.

Around '04 when I started listening to trance. The piece that made me fell in with the music was Armin Van Buuren's Universal Religion 2004: Live from Armada at Ibiza. It was all trance for me until recently that I'm starting to get into house as well.

you know what got me into trance? ... DSL. seriously. after i started getting high speed network i started discovering trance. and everything beyond it.

before internet.. it was Robert Miles, schiller , westbam ..and the usual dance house that made euro-MTV. This was the that was forced into me. i liked some of it becuse of the chords and the progression of them. I guess i listen to cheese house/dance songs when others were into early 90's pop and synths.

I'm young, 24. I listened to a lot of metal and Industrial in high school, I think Nine Inch Nails was my gateway drug into electronica. I grew tired of metal after high school so I got more into artists like The Faint, Daft Punk, Justice etc.

Was introduced to trance in 2008 by EyebeGod (he also showed me TA back when he posted a lot). Never looked back since, something just clicked with me immediately. I still like to listen to rock sometimes but I went to see Radiohead a few months ago and didn't even know what to do with myself except sway. I definitely would now just rather go see Zabiela drop Radiohead remixes.

Got into techno and prog house about two years ago, my life is better because of it.

yeah man broadband really introduced me to better electronic music too
but dang you are old
one trivia apparently Robert Miles-Children was number 1 on the main music charts in france for 8 weeks
I don't think any other electronic tune ever came close to dominating the airwaves in the history of electronic dance music

When I started college in 2002 having a high speed internet connection definetly changed the game for me.

I ended up spending so much money on groovetch buying records...

RIP GROOVETECH

I must give a shout out to Betoni. It wasn't trance, but they were one of the few mixsites that I would check out heavily in 2003-2005. They featured mostly minimal, ambient, IDM, tech house, prog, all of that...I miss that site.

Then there's deeprhythms.com, which I've checked out religiously since 2003.

I must give an honorable mention to Kazaa as well.
