Do you mean underground as in local DJ's? |

what I mean by underground (vague term not the best but couldn't think of what to call it)
someone who is not a household name and not in the top 100 on the DJ mag
or the top 250 on tranceaddict
yeah they can be local so long as u can link me to sets they made! |

Traxx, the absolute best DJ you've never heard of:
Luke Solomon - Classic Records label head, but don't know if I'd call him a household name (OP's probably never heard of him)
Luke Solomon - @ Sunday Best 2009
DJ Isolation - so ing deep it hurts my scrotum to think about it. For those who know that without Berlin, the rest of the world's electronic music scene would implode on itself - you're literally saving Techno and every micro-sub-genre associated with it (I've been informed of Progressive Techno this evening) by listening to this mix:
Jerome Hill - DON'T care what you like, plays what HE LIKES, like a good DJ does.
WestsideWax - old-fashioned, improvisational, 3-deck vinyl fuckery; the kind you find in loud, dark warehouses that you really don't find so much nowadays:

Rødhåd. The guy made his name purely on DJ sets, in a city filled with DJ's, in a time where productions are everything. I think that should say everything. Even the incredibly spoiled regulars at Berghain have nothing but good things to say about this guy when he plays.
By the way, if anyone knows the ID at 11 minutes. Such a smasher. |

Levon Vincent, would love to catch him at Panorama one day. Saw him spin for 2 hours last year here in Montreal, his mixing style is one of a kind.. a lot of cutting and jerking EQ work, hip hop style mixing.. he played some awesome stuff, it was kinda sporadic but I loved it..

wow guys thanks for the suggestions! i heard of some of those DJs before but some I never heard of...definitely checking them all out today
but no one really answered my question of top 5 sets of all-time
what are they?
Most of mine come from the era 2002-2009
Ok here is a great question
which DJ (underground or famous) plays sets with the highest proportion of good tracks to filler? like sets where u can listen straight thru the entire way without skipping once even after listening to the set more than 20 times?
Which DJ u think has lowest filler ratio?
For me it was Hernan Cattaneo from Year 2004-2007
to give u an idea of my taste
two sets of my top 5 were by Cattaneo from that period |

Regarding the underground ones, one of my faves is stil Chrisone. He posted his last set two years ago, I wonder what happened to him..
Here is his Soundcloud page, you can find his other sets on this site but all the download links are down.

I still have his They Come By Night(this one is in my top 5 TA sets of all time) and Return To Zero sets. Check out the threads, I can upload them if you want. |
