Are there any good NYE parties left in LA?

I have a friend who lives in the middle of the pacific ocean that I haven't seen for over a year. He's coming back for a couple weeks at the end of this year, and we want to go to some kind of NYE party, but I've heard TAO is garbage.
Do they still do the Giant NYE thing? Is there another option? |

TAO will be back, but it caters to the 18+
Playhouse will have some mainstream EDM guy.
Avalon will have someone.
As mentioned, Insomniac will have some kind of wonderland party.
San Diego and OC will have parties going on as well. |

Giant is still around but it's not same. No longer the outdoor 3 tent gig. |
