Before everyone hypes up in a hope that he is doing another live show, he's not...
I was just writing in the "if you could organize a party" forum... and me and two other people of like 6 posts had written Chicane.
It seems as if everyone would LOVE another Chicane set! I mean, the two livesets I got of him, the Palladium and the Galaxy (or something) one, both of them are TOTALLY AWESOME!! I bet most of us agree...?
I was wondering what you think of these two livesets, and what you'd do to have Chicane do another massively amazing liveset like the Palladium one... :D :p |

| Chicane really doesn't do trance anymore so if he was to do another set it would be like the galaxy chillout set. Chicane is supposedly working on and trying to put out a new album at the moment...perhaps when it comes out he'll start doing some sets again. |

galaxychill out is overrated. it's just a radio session with a bunch of chill songs queued.
palladium on the other hand is simply amazing. plus there's a song Mojave in it you can't find elsewhere!

word is, chicane just got out of a HUGE legal battle over his second album with his record label, and that is why he has been so light in the scene, but I read an interview that when his new album is finished that he will start promoting like mad... then you will hear more of him again, i think.... Chicane makes pure classics, he is a pioneer of epic, his songs can take you on some very nice journeys, cant wait for more of him...

I think Galaxy and the MOS Session (essentially they're both the same set) are highly overrated. I downloaded them, and even burned the MOS one because it's Chicane, and anything that he does is on my playlist, but they really weren't anything special.
For my money his "Visions of Ibiza" double CD set was a lot more enjoyable than the live sessions, at least it was mixed properly
Palladium though, don't even get me started about that set, it's one of the big things that made me go from *liking* trance to being a full on *trancEaddict*...the energy and power of all the songs...the live version of Halcyon and the brilliant Mojave in particular...my god, trance at it's finest IMHO! :tongue2
I'd *love* to see Chicane do another live set in the Palladium vein, but, as has been said, it sounds like he's going away from the more dancy sound...for better or worse who's to say? |

Sorry if I made it sound like I was saying that *he* mixed it, I just was happy that it *was* mixed! :p
The sound of the discs definitely makes me lean toward CPU mixing though...it's very "Gatecrasher-esque"...all that said, I still much prefer the discs for both the track selection, and the mixing.
I always approached Palladium as I would a live show by any non-electronic artist (ie: mixing isn't essential) but when you're talking a DJ set then not having it mixed seems very strange, and it breaks the flow too much for my tastes. |
