(Washington, DC) – Effective September 3, 2012, an investment group headed by Panorama Productions and Club Glow will take over operations of the DC Star nightclub/concert venue. The roughly 4,000-capacity space is located on Queens Chapel Road near the corner of New York Ave and Bladensburg Road NE.

It will undergo a multi-phase construction schedule over the course of several months. Cosmetic, technical and structural changes will transform it to a state of the art concert venue: Echostage.

Through music, design and technology, ownership will provide fans with a unique audio/visual concert experience.

Echostage will have the ability to host any large-scale, indoor concert production. Panorama’s ‘Club Glow’ Saturday events will move to the new location.

Opening Date - 9/22
Sander van Doorn
Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano

Fall dates w/ Armin van Buuren, 2 Days of Avicii, dBerrie, Dayglow After Party, Jochen Miller, Nero, R3hab, Zeds Dead and more!

Glow will also be hosting its weekly Thursday event from now on at Josephine.

Although I will miss Fur, I am excited to check out this new venue. See you sometime this Fall Ravi!

Awesome news. But it sounds like the venue is off the beaten path (1.5 miles from the nearest subway stop)... what's the neighborhood like? Please let it be better than that of FUR.

neighborhood seems industrial-ish. people say that sometimes dudes congregate there to drink cause its as you said, off the beaten path. sort of like how in HS we used to bring kegs to fields. It's also next to the Stadium Club which is from i can tell a strip club/club club that guys like R Kelly, 2 Chainz and athletes do appearances at.

all that being said - i think we're already working with the city to ensure a strong police presence on-site and in the surrounding area during events. i think we're also working on a shuttle service from nearby parking lots and working out insurance details for shuttles to/from the metro
