Hi guys,
I've been hammering away with this track for weeks and weeks. What do you guys think? I've been aiming for the ASOT style trance.

| Really enjoyed it mate!! But here are my thoughts, Every sound above 400hz sounds great, but every thing below seems out of place. Find a fuller, phatter kick, sounds to thin. And bass needs, well... MORE BASS! Bring up that 80- 120 hz range on the bass and remember to keep the clarity of the mix intact. Keep it up! |

I enjoy the lead sound and melody although for me it features too much and thus becomes a bit repetetive and unambisious. Although I like the lead it is a bit generic as I've heard many like it in the last 2 years.
The melody though is the best thing about the track, well done.
All the percs and bass need re-doing from scratch mate, sorry.
There is a wooden quality to that kick which takes up too much room and sounds old fashioned. |

I agree with what these other two have said. The kick doesn't really feel "glued" in the mix if you know what I mean. They are saying fatter kick and maybe that has something to do with the style you're going for, but I'd actually prefer a bit less in the mix as in BT's "The Gathering Darkness" around 8:15

But if you want a huge sound, I still would go with a different kick. |

Thanks guys for your feedback, It really helps. I do agree with the kick and the bass. I always have a bit of trouble doing the kick, and my theory is the track stands of falls with the kick. I think I need to EQ the midrange also. I'll see what I can do.
Also, thanks for the positive feedback on the melody. I'm really proud of that one.

Hi guys,
I shelved the project for a couple of months and did a complete rework of the tune. Here is the result. I think it's loads better, also renamed the track.
It's got a new kick, completely new baseline, new riser and lot's more.
