Hidden Events - the people that run Cache in St. Catharines. They locked the gates and said nobody else was getting on. My buddy told one of the promoters that his business partner was a piece of who lacks the basic ability to count and he said he was going to come find him and beat the out of him. Real professional.

What time did you arrive? Were you not offered a refund as well?

Got a refund but that wasn't the point. I was there before they started boarding - just so happened to be near the back of the line. Meanwhile I watched them take cash sales up at the front for people without tickets. This is a boat with a strict legal capacity, not a ing club. You can't do that.

dumb promoters oversold the boat and 50+ people with tickets got turned away. had a great time in the parking lot.

I heard that this happens in many nightclubs. I can't say about the promoters of the boat cruise, but the reasoning in the nightclubs is they know there's a certain percentage that will end up not going for whatever reason. So they gamble and make extra dough.

Like I said, this may not necessarily be the case in this particular instance as there's no info to support it.

Quite different on a boat though:
-People can't leave early making room for others
-Boats have extremely strict and policed capacities to follow whereas clubs can often break theirs without punishment
-Can only enter a boat at one time thus you're either in or not, whereas with a club you can just tell ticket holders to wait
-Much less chance of people bailing on a $50-70 boat cruise than a $20 club ticket
-Can easily have 2 lines at a club where 1 is for door charge and the other is for ticket holders with priority

And I think the worst imo is the end result of not getting on the boat. With a club on a fri/sat night if happens you are left with several other options often within walking distance. With a boat you usually woke up early, predrank with a crew, trekked to parking lot city on queens quay, etc etc if you are not getting on then you have no other options. Perhaps CZ, but if you're in boat mode odds are you don't want to go jam in a pitch dark basement with no drinking.

There's promoters (Platform, Ozmozis, Dirty Cycle, I/O) that put on boat after boat without any issues. If there's a logical explanation and this isn't the regular greed backfiring then hopefully someone says so. If not, I doubt I'd go on a boat cruise put on by these guys any time soon.

Outside of problems discussed, I had a ing good time. The cruise was full, there was a good guy/girl mix and the tunes were outstanding. I very much dug both Manzone & Strong and Victor's set.

As I've told people before, I like the cruises as most ppl leave any hangups at home and you get to see many at their best behavior. Everyone is so chilled to talk to... regardless if they be DJ's or not. You also get to chat with some that, due to their hectic evenings in the clubs, are approachable to just shoot the .

Here are the pics I took, the video will come soonish.

LOL you know what I mean.

For me it was good to see one that packed for once (at least compared to the ones I've been on).
