It's wise to give feedback, here, when you're asking for it. You don't have to comment on mine but I generally reserve comments to those who give feedback to other posters - even if they ignore me, entirely.
Feedback:
This almost sounds more like Electro (I know it's a loaded term but there is a good Electro producer on here who's earned my respect) than Trance. It's a good foundation for a song but I still found it very loopy. The variations are promising, in terms of showing a basic ability to progress the track, but I found myself wanting to hear more evolution. The mix, while clear, sounded just slightly shrill and a little over-compressed. The kick seemed a little under-represented.
Take my feedback with a grain of salt. I'm getting hammered for authoring a repetitive tune on my last track and my mixes are known for having the opposite problem, to a much more glaring degree, than the problems I found with yours. Personally, I think you've got some great ideas going. It's really a question of how you want to progress those ideas while maintaining the clarity and perhaps adding more dynamics to the mix. If Seandroid doesn't reply to this, you might PM him to see what he thinks, along with giving a few of his songs a listen. That's who came to mind when I was listening to your tune.
Keep at it, man. Regardless of the genre, you're definitely on the right track, production wise.
EDIT to add: One of the reasons I suggest giving feedback to other people is because it increases your chances of having more perspectives than just yours and one or two other people who happen to post in your thread. Some people may agree or disagree with my criticisms and that can help balance things. |

| Yeah nice it's got all the elements in place. As EddieZilker says it fits the electro category. I think you should render the track out and upload it too Soundcloud rather than have a video of it playing back in YouTube as it loses too much quality on YouTube. |

| I definitely think it has a lot of potential. It sounds good, just under developed. We are all working toward the same goal here, but like Eddie said keep at it and I am sure you will make some good ear pleasing tunes in the future. |

Definitely bounce it.
I would say for the lead synth try an adjust the eq a bit so that some of the middle range 1 - 2k are creeping in. Right now the lead sounds to airy and harsh. I know that lead sound that is nice in the upper register can sound big but everything needs moderation.
Also some more variation would be nice. I'm guilty of the same thing when it comes to over thinking the sound design and not spending nearly as much time coming up with chord changes or variation. try not to get caught listening to the same loop over and over!
Keep working at it! |
