theres a great documentary about the donk scene in the uk. some grim holes where skimpy ladies in neon bikinis and shaven-headed meatheads drink themselves numb and fight while the donks are pumping out of the speakers. classy

haha I've got folders full of scouse house and lots of trashy old hard house garbage... I love it, the cheesy, plasticness and the way that it generally just irritates most people. :)

It is real! haha I'm ashamed to say I used to play these sort of tunes back when I was 14-17..
Been to loads of the nights around the north west of England as well, it isn't something I'm proud of to be honest ha, I never thought anyone from here would know about it!

It's like the shameful secret of UK dance music. It's massive amongst a certain demographic of teenagers and obnoxious chavs, and utterly ignored by the rest of the clubbing world and the music press. My brother used to be into it when he was 16 and went to this under 18s club in Sheffield, much to my horror. He had wallets of CDs full of the stuff. I bet the bigger names in this scene make an absolute fortune.

I'd say it's more a bastard child of euro hardhouse and dub culture.
It's good to see that there are still places like that though, were people dance as if no one is watching. Although Russia does it better IMO :D

They don't mate, I used to attend these nights all the time, and know a lot of the big guys don't really earn a lot at all, they all have other jobs and just produce/DJ bounce as a side thing..
