Looks like the only people that have the right to hate on laptop DJs now are vinyl jocks...
| quote: | | Pioneer's CDJ-2000 took the spot at the top of the firm's CD turntable range a couple of years back, and has enjoyed a decent spell as the club standard. To ensure that its reign continues unchallenged, a new iteration in the form of the CDJ-2000nexus (no relation) has just been announced. The vast majority of the DNA remains the same, but there are some key new features such as WiFi (as we saw in the XDJ-AERO) for use with the rekordbox app, Beat Sync, Wave Zoom and Slip (a much wanted feature first seen in the CDJ-900). In total, you can now load tracks from CD, DVD, USB, SD, networked machines, and WiFi, meaning the player has essentially outgrown its "CDJ" labeling, becoming a true multimedia player. If you fancy taking one for a spin, you can do so starting from some time this month, for the upbeat price of $2,399. Laidback Luke demo video on rotation after the break. |

^^ Is that DJ jizztastic stuff?
Also, if that dude was someone like Sander van Doorn (or similar), he would have hit every freakin button/knob about 100 times or more in this one demo... lol. |

| Nah, he'd just fake like he was, but actually just let the track play, with all the uninformed thinking he was making it up on the fly. |

The new argument will be "real DJs only play on old CDJs"

Who cares? The only product that should be measured is what comes out of the speakers, and as we all know, even that is hugely subjective.
Having said that, the majority of people who are going to shell out $5000 for a pair of these still won't amount to much more than glorified jukeboxes who'll go around bragging to everyone that they dropped $5K on the newest Pioneer CDJs. |

| I don't know...I still find it super "MEH" when DJ's play off laptops...knowing it takes very little skill to push the beatmatch button or guys that use the "more creativity" BS do nothing to change my opinion. Fine if you're using Serato or Traktor with CDJ's or Decks but just using software to DJ it's not DJing. |
