Nice! I wish it was a Friday event, though, in case Circus has something more preferable. |

Who's headlining? Isn't this armins opener? |

:haha: I'm guessing you didn't catch Jerome Isma-Ae at Avalon? This guy deserves to be opening headliner for at least 3 hours. Highly acclaimed producer too, had to turn down some offers for Beemer commercials since too busy in the studio.
...and, a VERY different style than Jochen Miller! :D |

| Looks like we'll be heading out to this. I love JIA tunes when I hear them in a set, but I'm not sure how a whole set of them will sound...it may get repetitive but I'm looking forward to it either way :) |

| Anyone know the set times? Or at least when J I-A goes on? |

Fun night at exchange for sure. The opener was horrible IMO, especially for how JIA opened up. JIA on the other had was surprisingly impressive, had some nice dark big room stuff going. Threw in a few vocals but not too many, just right for my taste :) EXLA wasn't too crowded either but the dance floor was definitely pretty full until around 2, we left around 2:45.
*edit: favorite track of the night was his remix on Above & Beyond-Sun in Your Eyes..what a great tune. |

Jerome played a great slamming progressive (trousey) set. But I think I preferred his Avalon set from a few months back. Opening DJ was good at first until I realized he was pretty much from the Beatport top 100 school of DJing. It got tired pretty fast. God, how many Eric Prydz tracks did he play?
I'm still not a fan of the venue. The sound there is too much - they need speakers hanging, not stacked on the dance floor blasting your eardrums to oblivion. Plus the Exchange crowd can be kinda douchey. I was amused that a lot of the bottle service crowd didn't stay for Jerome's set once they realized they weren't going to hear popular tracks. I still prefer clubs where at least half the crowd knows who the DJ is. Exchange is not one of those clubs. At least at Avalon the crowd gets the music and will stay even if they don't know the DJ or recognize the tunes. |

I don't think they stay at Avalon because of the music. Percentage-wise it's probably the same between the two clubs for the people that go there for the specific DJ. |

You're probably right, but I still say the Avalon crowd gets it, and the Exchange crowd doesn't (generally speaking). Last two times I've been to Exchange the dance floor has thinned out within 30 min of the headliner going on: Jerome and back in July, Kaskade (and they left that time because he played old-school and not the hit-friendly set they wanted.) |
