This is by far one of the biggest game-community rallies that I have ever seen in the entire history of my gaming career starting with Quake2. You have people that are very powerful and very charismatic that are able to bring thousands of people together for one cause: Have fun.

Right now in the universe of EVE there are alliances both blue(positive standing) and red(negative standing) renaming their player owned stations in his honor and its rumored that the CCP dev team(corp that makes EVE online) will soon release a special edition in-game item or perhaps plant a station/rename of the NPC stations after this influential player.

So I encourage you all to use the 15 day trial if you havent played it or resubscribe your current accounts and take a warp around the EVE universe to see how unified it is right now and experience the wonderful aspect of our species: the mathematically stacked odds against us to realize we are gravitationally unified particles of stardust.

I give you their global-broadcast to thousands of players on their jabber server:
"It has been some time since I've sent out a broadcast personally, even I've been getting lazy and sending them out via directorbot, but I think this deserves a more personal touch.

First off, many of you are asking about a donation drive, and I want to let you know that one is coming. Vile Rat was not only a dear member of the EVE Community, but also a well liked (even loved) moderator on the Something Awful forums, and they are putting together a fund raiser to take care of the family. When this goes live we will be directing all of you in the EVE community who want to donate to this drive rather than duplicating efforts. Please stay tuned for more information on this as it's available.

Second, many of you are expressing outrage for the actions of some people in game (such as renaming stations that may mock the manner of his death) or are planning on going through all of EVE screaming in local. While you are free to do what you want, I would suggest to you that Vile would be the first to laugh at the station names, and would rather you spend your time on a slosh op shooting blues than screaming his name in local. So if you want to honor his memory, chuckle at the station names and go on a no-pants slosh op that involves random diplomatic incidents rather than mindless local spam.

Finally, well, I really don't have a finally. I knew Vile Rat for almost my entire career in Goonfleet, and I still have not adjusted to the fact that he's not coming back into Illuminati to let us know about another near miss like he did in Baghdad, or troll me over my 'Canadian' understanding of football. I'm going to be logging out of Jabber now, there is a bottle of scotch I need to get acquainted with."

What a tragic and idiotic event, their outrage. Those people had absolutely NOTHING to do with that ing movie, in fact, nobody who acted in it seemed to even know what the it was about.

Maybe if these people had access to online forums, this tragedy would not have occurred. Did you ever think about THAT, Pip? No, I don't suppose you did.

Ugh, how am I being accused of hippie-dom from someone who smokes all of Tasmania's weed?

Look, I play a game sometimes. It's called 'let's see what I posted when I was drunk last night'. I always win, because I usually lose. I'm also the only player, because 'I' is in the title, but that's beside the point.

I like to play ‘just the tip’ with hal. Just to see how it feels.
