Some people are made for it. They have the mind and personality to teach. He has "it."
There's nothing like a boring teacher who doesn't care about his or her job. Whether black, white, etc. It shows in the grades and the way the class operates.
Good teachers are a rarity these days. With budget cuts, class sizes and curriculums geared toward testing, people who would otherwise be great teachers have strayed away from it. |

I was wondering, has anyone ever had a black male teacher? |
Never thought of it but you're right. I once had a black gym teacher. Does that count? I wonder where they find teachers for schools in Africa? I'm guessing they have to import them. |

Even though this has racial connotation, it is in no way a remark about race.
I was wondering, has anyone ever had a black male teacher? I don't ever remember In any of my schools there ever being a black male teacher. I was wondering if this is just something i experienced in my life or if there actually is a very limited amount of black male teachers in the world? |
I don't mean to be a but I had 4. |

Biology teacher in High School. He was a remarkable man; well-spoken, helpful and had the most charming demeanor. He was well-liked by all the students.
I can't think of any other black teachers I had.
I also love being educated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, albeit indirectly. He must easily be the most awesome black man on Earth. |

Yes... though it was quite rare. Both male and female.
One of the most remarkable professors I've ever had was an African Indian (father from Mozambique, mother from Goa), who taught political science.
I was very embarrassed on the first day because this old pale guy behind me kept poking me and, when I turned around, he asked "is that nigga the teacher?". The professor heard his question, and before I could say anything, he answered politely "yes, I'm in charge of this class" - though not without me staring at him incredulous, wondering how the hell he was able to keep his cool.
The guy was an admirable human being. On a side note, he spoke a language with clicks as his mother tongue, though I can't remember which it was :( |

From primary school teachers, through to doctors and professors at my university, I've not once had a teacher/lecturer/tutor who was 'black'...... and I've never really thought about it until now.
Hmmm.... quite strange really. |

| I had 3 male black teachers at Lehman High school in the Bronx, 1 at Westchester community college Valhalla, N.Y and one at Pace University. Only one really stood out as being above average and that was at W.C.C. I don't think black males have the time and patience to deal with annoying students, their hands are full with Sheniqua at home. |
