Biobazar - Ôbômkôntek

banaharana
A synthesis of nature sounds, of mysterious electronica and world beat-native, sprinkled with baroque and elements of chillout electronica, Ôbômkôntek is a tribute to the roots and ramifications of the world’s peoples. It is a luminous, festive and hopeful journey between cultures and all that unites them across boundaries of borders and oceans.

Ôbômkôntek, in the Abenaqi language, means ‘’Camp of White Sand Point,’’ the old name of the village of Pointe-du-Lac where the album was composed from April 2011 to March 2012.

Dany Janvier is the chief architect of Ôbômkôntek, which he composed, mixed and arranged. He has been a fixture of the electro-underground scene in Quebec since 1998, playing with such bands as Karouzel (progressive rock), Jesus Bench 400 Livres (indy rock) and Band ZEN (jazz-electro trio). Absolute in his music, Dany Janvier concocts his works from various elements, associating art, philosophy, dreams and spirituality.

If you all want to grab a copy of this excellent album, you can head off to his site http;//www.danyjanvier.com or get it off HD Tracks. Otherwise, the album is coming out on the 17th, so you should get your hands on it (P.S. it'll be available internationally, so don't worry).

But the most important is to make sure to check out this video to the song Dans le Champ de Higgs, from the album: http://youtu.be/C5Wij4aEXUY
