Falling asleep at the wheel (pg. 3)

You really shouldn't move people at all after an auto accident, correct? Because of the risk of amplifying internal injuries?

It's a difficult urge to resist, I'm sure- most peoples' instinct is to get people to safety, and that means getting them off the busy road. Also, most victims are delirious and want to remove themselves/meander around in confusion, so forcibly keeping them from walking around could not only be a chore, but might cause them further injury. :/

You shouldn't move anyone after any kind of accident, but especially an auto accident. Internal injuries, yes, and more importantly - head and neck injuries.

But if it's bad enough, do you think anyone would mind if I just stuffed them in my car and used their bones to cast magic spells at some later point? I mean, it seems such a waste, and they obviously can't donate their organs if they're a viscous pulp anyway...

You'd be surprised, actually. :o

Surprised at how open most paramedics are to field bartering, right? I knew it!

This is why I always be sure to carry a surgical kit and a refurbished halo rigging, in my car.

Uh, that guy is a ing moron. Shouldn't have moved that chick after an injury like that.

It's human nature. There are loads of campaigns around here telling people NOT to do that - but the less educated among us are quick to dismiss what you say and do just that.

There was an accident just in front of a friend's house, and when he went out he saw some security guards checking if the injured guy was okay. My friend told them not to move the guy and he'd call an ambulance right away. Of bloody course, the moment he got back they HAD moved the guy, and he had some kind of leg/arm/head twitch... and the security guards had all run away.
