The other side of the vinyl: Interesting B-sides

the B-side has always interested me more than the A-side.

it can be an orignal production, or a self-remix, or a remix by another producer.

the B-side is usually more interesting, quirky, experimental. usually a lot less generic, not afraid of risk.

so much so, i think "B-side" can be used as a term, rather than having to mean literally the flip-side.

sometimes, they are corwardly safe re-hashes of the original mix. those do not apply :)

here is a good example.

Which half of the pitch slider interests you more? The plus or the minus? I'm a minus 0.7 guy. No I'm not joking even a little bit.

pitching down is for pussies.

I have a lot of really obscure B-sides in my collection

if you think that the best track of an ep is judged by the side it is pressed on, you are a twat.

i completely agree, the b side is usually what the artist would like to release, aside from the market. I know some of my tunes are b sides but i can't really tell you from which EP come from right now.

learn to read, stupid cunt.

what side it's pressed on is irreverent. i'm talking about that "B-side" quality. and on different releases, the side that a track is pressed on can vary anyway...

but there is no denying the B-side traditionally allows a certain freedom that the more commercial A-side usually doesn't allow.

You're acting like a complete here Dykes. The thread is legit. Everyone knows the main mix is usually on the A and the B1/B2 is the wack track. This is house tradition. Save your ****ery for another thread :p

LOL I now see Scooter did something funny back in 1994. Hyper Hyper (original) was and wasn't on the A side of two versions:

A Hyper, Hyper
B1 Unity Without Words Part 1
B2 Rhapsody In E

A1 Hyper Hyper (Faster, Harder, Scooter)
B1 Hyper Hyper (Original Version)

Most here probably will pick the B side of the first as much more interesting and regarding trance it for sure is.
I wanted to pick the B side of the second expecting it to be the Harder, Faster, Scooter version, but strange enough it was on the A side, so I can't use that one here.

you guys really don't get it, and i won't bother to explain.
