Most likely there won't be any issues. I have owned a pair for a year and a half, and NO problems so far |
Ugh. So per this thread I bought S4s and within 2 weeks the right side died out + the controls weren't working. Got it exchanged for newer model S4is with flat cables.. it's been a week, and , the left side is already dead. Grrrr! I only use them to/from/at work and at the gym. These are not durable at all.. Gonna try exchanging them once more. |

| Watch out about working out with them. Could be that sweat is getting inside the earbuds and that can surely cause some damage. |

| Weird, I work out with my S4s too + use them a good several hours a day and no problems. I do have the normal ones with no controls though perhaps that makes a difference... |

Hmm I never thought about that. Good point. I think I'll refrain from using my 3rd replacement for workouts. lol |

If you're using them w/ your phone, then why are you still dealing with cords?
I've been using a pair of Plantronics Backbeat bluetooth stereo headphones for more than 2 years now. They're a cooperation between Plantronics & Altec Lansic & are in ear, but not like ear buds.
Bass boost option; full range of sound; can take a phone call on them w/ ease; plenty of battery life.
& best of all: no ing cord!
I bought 'em for long distance skating before screwing up my knee again & they stood up just fine to 4 hours of sweating. Just a quick clean w/ rubbing alcohol is all they've ever needed. |

| I too am looking for some in-ears for my non-iphone mobile device. From reading this thread it seems that S4s or CX-300 are the way I should go? Any other suggestions? |

For those that have units that stop working, consider that it may be wax buildup causing the problem.
On my in-ear headphones, it starts to die and over a few weeks, the channel stops working almost entirely. Thankfully, mine have user-replaceable filters (but the headphones cost $$$).
They also lasted a trip to the washing machine and dryer with minimal damage.
So, consider that this may be causing them to die (and perhaps someone with a multimeter can confirm if the speaker/wiring is in-tact or not). It may be possible to mechanically/chemically remove the wax as a last-ditch effort.
On topic: These have pretty good reviews: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...&seq=1&format=2 |

| A friend of mine just turned me on to the SRS iWOW sound enhancer for Ipods. It's a neat little attachment that really improved the sound from my Ipod to my Shure I3C headphones. Only $25 on Amazon, well worth it. |
