since you know the people at c39, what's the scoop there?

went to the mr. bugsley break-science opener, but someone outside told me that it wasn't really a grand opening, that the place has been, and still is, open as a twinky puertorican gay bar other nights. True?

just wondering

went there friday night and before for guy j party
there was a male stripper show.
the venue opened up late due to the show still going on

the night before i heard was a rock show.
the venue isent just for house/trance/techno etc
it is a business and needs to make $
so i understand where they are coming from, however if they still want to book house/techno dj's they really need to invest in a better sound system

10/4 was Ott and the all seeing eye, was there, a really good show, but then I like Ott, and haven't seen a bad one of his yet.
But that isn't rock of course.

Sound is a bit thin true, needs more oomph and clarity

they're planning on redesigning the lights and sound by year end. as Ay said, it's a business and you have to get revenue in before you change things. the good part is that the owners are committed to making it a nice place for those of us still missing Club Love.

I had a great time at 39, it has a lottttt of potential, good to see some cool bookings going on there.

kudos to them, and I agree with the poster just above too.

Since you know the owners, pass on that it is a good policy to let people go outside and come back in.
I can't stand the "all exits final" bull, or the places that do let you go out, but only into a tiny packed smoking section

there's really no justification for this at most places, it's not like they care about the line-length. If one wants to leave briefly, and the do line again, why not?

So, they do it right at C39, and their general ID/search practices are also OK, don't change...
