you are truly a good source for contemporary music

I wrote some on your soundcloud page but forgot to comment here. Nicely done, you do a very good job at playing eclectic - not many people can do that. I personally fail miserably :D

And I don't know why, but your mix somehow inspired me to record something for the first time in a while. I'll have a thread up in a moment (shameless selfpromotion! :p)

Awesome. Also thanks, I appreciate it. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing when I mix, so feedback helps a lot.

Thanks for checking it guys, still not super confident about it.

i will only listen if you change the thread tag to bas gay.

Really nice set, I was losing faith in the DJ promotion subforum, but finally I found something good.

Thanks man, appreciate it. :)

As you know, I suck at leaving helpful/constructive feedback, but my ears really enjoyed this. Dat bass, you know? Good . Was this a combination of wax and cd? Keep it up :)

It was indeed vinyl and CD. Also thanks, I suck at leaving feedback too.
I've kinda given up on getting my mixing "perfect", so hopefully it's tolerable. Listening back to this I just keep cringing at little transitions that could have been easily fixed, or flow problems that I've got numerous ideas for after the fact. All in all though, I'm glad to hear people are liking it, at least.
Dykes_on_Jay
i am still waiting for my request before listening.

This mix was decent, but I can't say I massively enjoyed it. Certainly not as much as Empty Solace.

It started off well, and then there was the rough transition into Malfunction (Adjust), and well... I just ing hated that track. I hated it so much I was sorely tempted to just turn the mix off and play something else. But I got through it and things picked up. And then after a while, I started thinking "Yeah, this is groovy and eclectic, but I'm not sure where it's going". Then the Jimmy Edgar and Scuba tracks came in and it felt like the mix was picking up nicely, as though the rhythmic and stylistic diversity of the early stages was going to crystalise into a thumping dancefloor beat. And then... I dunno. The mix just seemed to end. I was quite surprised it was over.

There were a lot of positives. Despite the odd clanger, the mixing was pretty good. I like the eclecticism, and a lot of the tunes were good. I just didn't get any real sense of narrative. Empty Solace hit a wonderful apex with that Biosphere track, like a high point from which you could look back and survey how far you'd come. There was none of that here - no moment that threw everything into focus.
