Hi TA!

Ok so to answer right away the question "didn't you retired?"

Yes I did. But I also said that I would do online sets from time to time, because it might prevent me from not going completely crazy. Hope you guys are ok with that ;-)

After my last gig in June, I put all my gear in the closet and switched my brain off. I needed to take a huge step back, and stay away from electronic music.

A week ago I listened to the Late Night Tales compilation by Metronomy and I decided to open my mixer and put my headphones on again. The cover is an obvious wink to the album that deeply inspired this mix.

I just love that feeling of melancholy. It reminds me of times like when I was driving back after a gig from Ottawa, alone, streets were empty, listening to old 70's and 80's adult rock on radio as the sun slowly got up...

Between night and day is that moment where sadness and beauty comes together. The night is over, but still, the day hasn't started yet.

It wasn't easy to get back into it and wrap my head around how I would do my own eclectic EDM version of Late Night Tales... but I am very happy with result.

Hope you enjoy!

a mixset will never be as good as a live performance :toothless

ha ha, miss you to Francis ;-)

(there was a small glitch at the beginning of the set. Don't know why. If you have this version, please download again.

i miss it. I stopped as I was starting to get noticed with the production stuff but I just got bored and went to school and studied classical music for 8 years.

maybe work on something else music related and come back to it. I just started making EDM again in the last few months. First time in 8 years I had time or interest.

And since everyone is broke, you can find anything and everything on craigslist.

I would just take a break, and if you want to do it again, don't apologize. And next time you stop, never say you are retiring. Swan songs are for drama queens.

Well, never say never, but I usually don't go back on my decisions.

I don't remember any DJ leaving the scene the way I did. It was unique and beautiful. That's why I won't go back on my word. I'm really done with it.

I always worked 2 jobs, I have another career that is going great, so I need to focus on that since I don't have the energy to do both anymore.

If one day I go back messing around with production, it would be completely outside edm, but then again, I don't consider myself a musician or a great producer.

will check it out man.

listened while making dinner and crushing my liver with a bottle of fake wine. iguess djing is like riding a bike....once you have it you never forget how:)

not my typical fare , but a great soundtrack to make chicken meow meow to nonetheless .

I'll take that as a compliment ;-)

Thanks for listening.

I know this is very different...but pretty much all my sets are quite different from one another.

Might not be everybody's cup of tea. But my goal is always to push myself, explore, surprise and try to make a print of the way I feel.

Hopefully it will find it's audience. ;-)

I have a huge backlog of sets I need to go through but I'll check this out as I really like the feeling that you said inspired it.

Ravemontreal
Don't tell me only Jay listened to it... how sad.
