yeah they exist, they got a new name to avoid paying off debts or something like that (don't know exactly) and they are playing now in serie c2, ranked 1st at the moment:) the only starplayer left is di livio. they are coached now by vierchowod. that's all i know.

Fiorentina Officially Dead
09/27/2002. Fiorentina are no longer in existence after they were officially declared bankrupt by a Florence court.
Despite not being financially sound enough to enter Serie B, the club itself still technically existed until now.
Meanwhile, former club president Cecchi Gori is being investigated for financial irregularities.

they decided to create a new club under the name fiorentina 1926, but i guess it failed! |

i guess it didn't fail, here some info from www.fiorentina2000.net:
"Florentia Viola have named Gino Salica as their new President after the Serie C2 side reshuffled the Board of Directors.
Salica is the right hand man of businessman Diego Della Valle, who is the majority shareholder and new Honorary President."
i think the past weeks you had 2 teams, still the old fiorentina, but as mentioned by milanster only technically, and the new club was named florentia viola. this club can be seen as fiorentina although it's a completely new club. the only player they have from the old viola is di livio, and they still play at artemio franchi stadium. at www.fiorentina2000.net you can find standings etc :)

Anyone else see the game Inter - Juventus??
1-1 draw but everything happened from 89 mins onwards....Del Piero scored of penalty on the 89th minute and Toldo came in for a corner on the 94th minute and scored. THe last goal was a mess in Buffon's box and i didnt think it was valid.... |
