I just bought a nord modular rack for 500$
synths are not getting better.
The Virus B sounds better than the virus C which sounded better than the TI
The Nord 2 sounded better than the Nord 3
These sorts of new digital synths sound about as good as a VST. |

Looks like a hipster toy. And that reverb is ing disgusting.
That filter knob is sexy as though, I'll admit. |

I check Cragislist every morning. I bought an evolver and he happened to have a nord modular there. I was at one point going to buy a G2 but it was like 1000 and it was a keyboard model which i find annoying so I passed. I really do prefer rack versions as I don't use one main controller for everything and the keyboard versions take too much space. I also just sold my jp 8000 but he has an 8080 he will be selling so i will probably get that. The rack version is so much more sturdier. Actual metal. |

dope... i get email updates from craigslist and kijiji also... looks like u got lucky! im broke now but now that i have my bass issues sorted (moog source + alpha juno) i need something gooey.... nord or a virus is in my future
what would you reccomend? |

not sure what you mean by gooey
I think for the price
a used
evolver 300. This this is a monster.
blofeld ( you can find these for 300 - 400, just check the encoders before you buy it )
nord micro 300
honestly, the micro has the same engine as the nord lead. you just have to program the patch architecture.
Those are all synths that are amazing but seem to have lost their value.
the nord lead and virus haven't changed prices in a decade. If you do get a virus, go for the B, and the nord 2.
The virus TI is fine i guess but it is expensive. Nothing wrong with it. |

Mini nova sucks, doesn't look like it excels at anything. |

I think it will be a big hit at the Music stores.
The microKorg is the most sold keyboard ever and Novation Mini nova jacked every thing good about microKorg and it sounds better and it feels well made like a tank. I just want Mini nova as a master midi controller for my small Studio. I am a big fan of small toy mini synths, I want them all! :) |
