"Same difference".
It's either "same thing" or "no difference". "Same difference" is just nonsense. |

Technically, it is fallacious to say that everything, meaning the multitude of events that both have already occurred and continue to occur in perpetuity, happens for a reason. Reason, in this instance, is singular and therefor applies to a singular condition which, according to this phrase, caused, and continues to cause, everything to happen. Furthermore, that reason remains undefined. In order for the phrase to be true, it would have to be logically, infallibly, and irrefutably established that everything follows from a singular condition. Since it is impossible to establish what specific condition satisfies the criteria for causation of everything subsequent to it, the statement, everything happens for a reason, is false. wit. |

anything with 'god' in it. but what irritates me most is when people use god as an explanation of events, most often bad events, like 'god works in mysterious ways' or 'only god knows' or 'maybe it was god's plan'.
'really?', i think to myself. piss off. |
This, so much this.
"My dad passed away last weekend."
"GOD WERKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS!11" |

"That's how I roll"
"What's up?"
"Everything happens for a reason"
"Karma is a bitch"
And anything that comes out of some religious fruitcake's mouth. Also, corporate buzzwords make me want to stick a rusty knife in the person's eyes. |

You're right about about everything happening for ONE common reason being a false statement. That doesn't stop me from saying 'Nothing happens without a reason'.
I personally use that phrase, because I don't like the notion that some people are just stupid, or some are people just evil. Those notions basically imply that we humans aren't of equal value.
Saying that some things happen without a reason, implies that there was nothing to trigger such events. Also, 42.
