Figured I'd make an official event thread for this, it seems to be a somewhat massive festival down in Miami.
Basically, this festival is meant to supplement the Art Basel fest that takes place in Miami during the same time every year. It is supposed to both music and art (there will be a good amount of contemporary art on display, I guess) to create a unique experience. It's also a good excuse to simply go to a music festival.
Tickets are $149 for a two-day pass, plus service fee.

Kanye West, The Offspring, Lou Reed, Keane, FUN., Santigold, Ghostland Observatory
Erick Morillo, Sven Väth, Pete Tong, Bob Sinclar, Reboot, Dan Deacon, Kevens
In addition to the above acts, there are also 4 distinct "arenas"...

Pretty stoked about the lineup...Sven Vath, Dubfire, Morillo, Carl Craig, Troxler, Cassy are all A-list DJs in my book, and the others are pretty damn good in their own right. I hear some of the non-EDM that isn't posted yet is supposed to be top-quality as well. Plus the Space stage is yet to be announced. I'd also assume that there will be some serious afterparties going on in Miami that weekend. Who knows, maybe some trance will be incorporated into the Space stage (the same organizers made PVD the headliner at the Back in Black Halloween event). |

I read somewhere that JACKIE RICHIE discounts $25 off the ticket so essentially the you fees from wantickets. It's limited time so I have no idea how long that promotion will last.
P.S. I may go to this as a christmas gift to myself. |

I'm down to go to, even if certain people do succeed in getting me to go to EDC Orlando, lol.
Anyone else have plans for this? Could do a TA meet-up, would be cool, especially for a festival. |

2nd Reveal just came out...and there's an "art" ticket option now where you can get a 2 day pass for 100 bucks, but you have to be in the festival by 2 pm. AANNNDD if that wasn't enough, you can type in "travis rogers" as a promo code for another 25 dollars off the total price.
Total price for a before 2 pm ticket that is good for BOTH days: $90.87.

Honestly, I'm more stoked about this than anything else I've done this year music-wise, except for maybe WMC, but my WMC this past year was an absolute cluster due to my friend breaking her ankle the night before we were supposed to leave. This festival sounds like an insanely great time, lots of different music, and hey, I've always been a Jane's Addiction fan. Throw in a 4 star downtown Miami hotel that Hotwire has going for $114 per night (that I've narrowed down as the JW Marriot...pimp status) and this is a no-brainer. It's me plus a friend, anyone wanna throw down on the room?

| I'm thinking about going to this. I just started a new job and I have to work on the weekends from 8-4 unfortunately. On top of that I chose those two days to go in later and get out at 6:45. So if I can get a clearance to just go in at 8 and out at 4, I'll definitely hit it up. $150 with the discount isn't bad for a two day weekend. |

| New phases were announced. Most notably Lenny Kravitz was added. I really wish I could go to this festival but it falls during finals. I really think they hit a homerun with this festival. Would have maybe like to see some more indie bands get added similar to acts that were at the All Points West festival in NYC just to add some diversity in the music. The djs they picked though are perfect for the Art Basel. I'm really surprised there is no faith in this over at TNL but then again they kinda hate on everything. |

When I left EDC Orlando last night I was handed a UR1 festival fold out poster that had the layout of the festival and information about a lot of different things at the festival. Best part is that the Techno arena is going to be a covered tent. So yeah, you sun!
P.S. I bought my ticket after last nights mayhem by the techno guys at EDC Orlando. |
