That guy must have had a very bad hair day, so much cynism. Is he still alive? Or did he decide to pull the plug, I mean if the purity of this album hits you with so much cynism
It's like a suicide bomber going to Allah's afterlife and starts complaining that 90% of the virgins have smelly pussies. Sorry it just doesn't get much better than this....... |

| Critics are normally s that couldn't made a living of what they are criticizing and now are envious of those who are doing it. |

| Cool track. I guess I can see where someone would want drums to start banging in. I liked the distorted guitar, so was distracted by listening to the overdrive synth after. Within the context of the album, yeah, you would have strong feelings: Closer comes next, and defeats the intensity that was building. The album isn't a show though. Closer finally pays off after starting drums. Again, it's not a show, so you have to think about the tracks individually, and decide if the order played affects them.\\ |

I like this.
Its begging to be used as a DJ/mashup tool as well, conveniently at 128bpm. |

This one cures the itch. There are a couple of cool versions he had through his soundcloud, including one with some vocals (by Joel himself I believe), which are also very solid.
I would like to see him use other vocoders, however. It seems to be the same hi+low freq ones he has been using for a couple of years (in Sometimes Things Get Complicated, for example). Makes you wonder if he created the synths behind it and uses it out of pride, or just doesn't care much to experiment into making a more intricate or unique sound for that.
Overall it's one of the songs I enjoyed more in 2012, and on his album. This and Mau5's blog posts have made me more interested in his career and appreciate what he is doing more. |

not sure how you enjoy this other than what it is which is a jab at the industry. The sound design is ok, the lack of any beat despite being a percussive track is part of the satire but as something that stands on its on and taken seriously, just bad writing. It is just kinda weird that way too many people kinda missed the point. It is bad on purpose.
There were plenty of great tracks on that album. People that don't seem to get the joke and taking it seriously makes it funnier i suppose. A little pathetic in a production forum tho to have the discussion focused on this particular track. |

| What's the joke for you? The relentless anticipation and lack of drop? |

| the form. There is just nothing about this track that sounds interesting other than the fact it is kinda taking the piss. |

| Its basically a cool loop imo, not much to it musically, if you even wanna call it music, it doesn't go anywhere. However, when I first listened to it, my first thought was, the first two minutes or so would be cool as a show opener in one of his sets. I'm a big fan of his music, but yea, this track is not really music imo, sounds like an intro to something. |
