Cosmic Baby, the synthesizing genius.

In my younger days of hearing this artist's work, I believe it was a member of TA who posted the Celestial Harmonies mix of Fantasia by Cosmic Baby. At the time, I thought it was a bland track, only to later in my years figure out the true beauty of that song. It was a blissful experience. The intro is soooo boss. The original mix OR the Celestial Harmonies mix, such a great intro, that leads into an amazing experience.

Anyways, that was how I got into Cosmic Gate. (Thanks TranceAddict community!)

How did you hear of Cosmic Baby?

I believe it was I who posted that track. Close your eyes and to that intro on Fantasia (Celestial Harmonies, its pretty enveloping and lush. Fantasia (Remix II) is a bit rougher with the 303 but still has strong emotion with those beautiful strings. And if you hadn't already, listen to Fantasia (Outro), it's like a stripped down version with some nice piano chords and retains the trancey feel.

There's a sweet video on youtube of him playing at Club Omen jamming on the keyboards while Sven Vath is tripping out and E-tards are chewing off their faces.

I'd consider him a musical genius hands down. He was trained to play piano at an early age. Glad he decided to take that genius to trance.

in 1995 i was dating this girl which was house sitting a couple days for a single middle-aged co-worker, some really mega-nerd librarian. so one day i go over and start flipping through the handful of cds that she had laying about. as luck would have it, she had Chill Out! - The Techno Evolution Continues so i popped it into her old school hi-fi sytem. and a few tracks later Planet Earth 1993 (Blue) came on and i was hooked.

Yeah that was you! You posted two videos. One video was him playing at a rave party right? It's got that whole early 90s vibe to it, even the tape cassette had 360i film quality. I think it was in a "post an awesome live performance video."

The second video you posted was in a thread where TA members would share the best intros, and that was when you posted the Fantasia track. I'll definitely check out the suggestions.

Aside from Fantasia, I love his works. Wasn't he one of the key artists behind Energy 52? Also, has anyone heard his Magic Cubes track? A freaking solid LSD track tripper right there! Love it.

I first knew him for his mix of Café Del Mar and as half of Visions Of Shiva. I didn't hear any of his solo work until several years later. I think I heard The Space Track around 2008, almost at random. I've since heard most of his discography, as it's all available online.

I first heard of cosmic baby because my dad used to play his second album (thinking about myself) when I was 2.

He's absolutely amazing, I think he's possibly the best classic/acid trance (anything excluding goa trance) artist from the 90-95 era. Definitely one of the best artists from any era IMO and certainly from 90-95.

His first two albums are great (the second one especially) but after that he makes simplistic and boring synthpop.
