Native Audio DJ4 - Does it do this....

OK so a while back I decided to go down the Ableton route and bought a VCI 100 controller but just use it to mix levels and stuff in Ableton not used it live as yet. I understand I'll need a DJ soundcard such as the audio 4 to make the most of the VCI for live use.

What I would like to do is connect vinyl decks to it but do I need a traditional mixer to do this?

If you run the decks through the audio 4 can you then use the software to control the sound levels/cuts etc?

ok multiple things going on here:

you need a dual soundcard to be able to cue up your tracks.
There are alternatives to the Audio 4 in terms of size and cost.

The main advantage of getting an Traktor certified soundcards (NI branded really ...) is that you can do timecode mixing with vinyl or cd decks plugged into the card.


You could play regular vinyl plugged into the soundcard and doing internal mixing in Traktor without ever needing a dj mixer. I think...
