| I like how every episode in season 2 is basically a giant curveball. I don't expect anything less from the next episode, which is why I am dispelling most of the theories going around as to what is gonna happen next. |

| I think all of the quality shows with decent writers know what their viewers are expecting and avoid it. That's a big part of what keeps it interesting. |

If you're only comparing Dexters first season to Homeland then yea, not as good. But in future seasons Dexter has had some incredibly bad writing.
Anyways, I'm up to date with Homeland and I'm loving it. It took me around 6-8 episodes to really get into it but now I love it. The first seasons conclusion was intense as hell, and how season 2 has been developing in the first 4 episodes is ing awesome.
The Walking Dead has really turned it around in the first 2 episodes of season 3. Season 2 was painful.

Newsroom is great too, if only because of how it portrays the major issues that have happened in the last 2 years. I wish it was more current though (I know it's impossible). I'd say Game of Thrones, Homeland and Newsroom are my favourite TV shows on right now. The Walking Dead will be right up there too if they can redeem themselves from season 2. I'm struggling to get through Breaking Bad. I'm towards the end of the second season and it just seems so repetitive/formulaic. |
