What is Trance?

| I have heard a lot of definitions about trance but I thought I'd ask everyone here what they think the word and genre means. Any thouhgt and opinions would be great. As well, if anyone would like to drop a couple song names that'd be great |

a psychological state induced by (or as if induced by) a magical incantation
A state in which the soul seems to have passed out of the body into another state of being, or to be rapt into visions; an ecstasy.
A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state.
Detachment from one's physical surroundings, as in contemplation or daydreaming.
A semiconscious state, as between sleeping and waking; a daze.
A tedious journey
the dictionary definition pretty much sums up the musik for me ;) |

basically anything on our all-time favourites list... in other words.
trance music should at best take you to a journey and throw you into a state T-Funk quoted... and at worst, still being able to make you stop thinking. when it goes too hard or too fast, the focus is shifted to the beats, then it's becoming "music for the body", not your mind. |

Trance.....isfeeling the emotion and power at the same time ;brought by the melodic music and strong killer bassline.
