Hello Addicts,

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you who commented on my previous threads, because you helped me become a better producer. As a result, I've had a few releases, and I'd like to share the preview of an upcoming single of mine.
As always, any cunstructive criticism is welcome.
Enjoy :)

Greets,
Pete

the kick is very perky like the label guy said. I found the intro too bland/long without much direction. Sometimes in an effort to create atmosphere we end up automating synths and creating pad textures galore. And in that process, we end up morphing any semblance of musical phrasing into essentially wishy washy nothingness.

This track is in no way nothingness, but you are tippytoeing on the edge with your intro. The "real" trance intro with percussion/kick/loopy driving bass is much better in my opinion. in fact cut that first part and move it to the post chorus1 breakdown. like it said its a great pad wash - just needs the right sequencing in the arrangement.

you said you released before - where do you release from????

a major reason for moving the breakdown pad work to the break not starting with it is it severely limits the number of djs who could work with it - not starting with a easy repetitive percussion based intro of some kind makes it too hard for 75% of djs out there who beat match via software. and they are looking for kick/clap/snare waves to base their bull beatmatching to - so just my .02 but yeah maybe its not as "elegant" of an intro but intros are for the dj - they shouldnt be heard by anyone except the original producer, people who listen to trance in the car on their own, and the dj as he is blending it into the outro of the last track - percussion on percussion.

Thanks for your comment.
Actually I know exactly how DJs build up their mixes and how they like them. But there's one thing you should know: this is not the intro. As you may have noticed this is a preview cut out of the track, and includes the break and the build-up

Taste wise pete I would prefer a different less woody less dominating kick, and more of a pump on the synths and the verb, otherwise nice floaty trance here.

haha fair enough - touche sir. point taken. So how did you go about signing your previous tracks bro? Im curious as to the proper decorum for handling such business matters.
