haha, couldn't have said this better myself. i was exhausted from escape the night before and hadn't slept yet, so i wasn't dancing at all, but when armin dropped loops and tings and markus came out i got my second wind ;)

loved all the classic reworks ... loops and tings, stella, universal nation, serenity, airwave, etc. amazeballs.

Gonna re-post my immediate review over on this thread 'cause looks like this is the thread where people are doing them:

I cannot believe that Markuz just showed up and play a tag team set with Armin. It was amazing.

At first I was feeling like Armin was merely good and not great and playing a bit too slow and soft for my tastes before Markuz showed up but as soon as that happened at around 1:30AM, it was on!

So glad I decided to go! Was a bit pricey but ended up being well worth it.

Place was packed even though it was Sunday night and not as much of the usual mainstream crowd because of night and the price.

Went to the meetup and also met some TAs and a lot of cool folks from the scene so that's another reason I'm also really glad I went!

[I was partying beforehand at the Airliner at I Love LA party which was Drum & Bass and left a little before 10PM to go to Exchange. Got so much dancing in last night with both parties :D]

I had a great night. It wasn't too packed, music was good, venue was excellent (as always) and of course... MARKUS AND ARMIN B2B!!! I definitely loved their attitude and interaction with the crowd. They looked like they were having a blast, especially when they started messing around with the cryo blaster.

Also as far as the music I did think Armin played a little too much new stuff that I wasn't diggin in the beginning but toward the end and of course when Markus came out, I was loving every second. Lots of great tunes played, a bunch of classics (including a remix of Daydream - anyone recognize it?) and I'm fairly certain that the song before Brute was the new Ferry & Markus track (saw them post some pics on FB of them working together). I enjoyed the killing remix live too - dope new track. And How Do I Know is still stuck in my head.

I almost died today at work but I'm so glad I went. As always Exchange was a good time, good crowd that was really into it - actually I remember at one point everyone was chanting "Armin Armin" and he pointed at Markus and almost immediately everyone changed the chant to Markus. Haha. Those 2 were definitely in control of the crowd. Also a lot of people there seemed like they actually knew the songs and were happy to see Markus along with Armin. I hope the people there appreciate what went down last night because it definitely was legendary.

Good running into jdub too... I'm starting to sense a pattern. haha. and special shoutout to Malia for helping me sell my extra 2 tix - definitely above & beyond on your part - very impressive.

his best sets are asot tours. That is when you want to see him.

wasnt this advertised as avb show? dj set time 12-3? since they delivered a product that had not been advertised, the consumer is 100% entitled to a refund for not following thru on product as promised. now had they advertised as AVB + MAJOR SPECIAL SUPRISE GUEST, then they would have covered their bases. :toocool:

I had also Escaped from Wonderland over the weekend, so didn't have as much energy upon getting to Exchange around 9:30p.m. On top of that, the first DJ played House so I was sitting out most of it.

Then Armin appeared from the upper right balcony and the crowd just went wild, cameras everywhere, "Armin, Armin, Armin!" I also thought his set was a little slow or something for the first hour, but the crowd was really going off and it was really packed. Then Markus appeared and it was like the skies opened and rained 24k gold...every song seemed to get better, like they were outdoing each other to come up with the most badass track, and I loved every minute of it! Amazing how the music filled me with so much energy, it even carried over to work the next day, wasn't tired at all which was really unexpected!

There was however, this one girl at Exchange who held up a silhouette of Armin right up front the ENTIRE night, her arms must be sore as hell because it never came down until about 5 minutes from the end. Really frustrating for those behind trying to connect with the DJ and get some pictures. Nothing wrong with showing support, but keeping it up about half of the time would be just fine, think of everyone behind you, they are also the reason this DJ is in front of you! :wtf:

Overall, an excellent night that I'll remember for a long time. I actually felt like I underpaid for such awesome talent in the same room, but I'll get over it! :D
