| Here in Vermont I see a lot less celebration of Halloween than when I was younger. Not just a different perspective because I was a kid, it's definitely less visible. Anyone else notice this in other areas? Possibly parents scared of their kids getting poisoned candy? I dunno. |

I noticed this too, just not sure if it's because I'm older and don't care about halloween as much. |

It might depend on where you are. Here it feels like Halloween is more of a party holiday for adults than a holiday for kids. There is a LOT of Halloween stuff everywhere and a massive amount of parties.
Christmas creep could be a part of it, too. As soon as Halloween stuff starts going up, Christmas products are front and center in stores. The overlap seems to be distracting from Halloween a bit.
Halloween is still my favorite holiday, though. It becomes even more fun as I age. I love decorating for it and going to costume parties. |

I've read that this is purely a myth (that it happens, not that parents are frightened of it).
For costume : I'm considering doing Jack and Wendy Torrance, but I do'nt think my girl is ... white enough...to do Wendy. hahahah
I can't come up with much of anything else. I've tuned out of pop culture pretty much altogether this past year. |
