| Just get an Impreza if she can't drive stick. It's essentially the exact same car without a turbocharger. The 2.5L does 0-60 in under 7 too. That's the car that I have. |

| If it's blue with gold rims I'm gonna punch you so hard in the face, Russell. |

Really? Online suggests 9.8s to 60, and 17.4@81 in the quarter. Now, I'm no drag racer, but passing while driving uphill in the mountains needs to happen.
Sooo I guess that leaves me with the mini-SUVs. Hard to get an AWD with any power for under $30k, but if that's what it takes, that may have to do it... |

| haha 30k for a car. You'll get a bumper and two tires for that in Norway. |

Huh, yeah it looks like they don't make the 2.5L anymore. All of the new ones are only 2L apparently.
Still, a WRX is only 26K, so you should just make your girlfriend learn how to drive stick. Any new car is really easy to learn on anyways. |

| I dunno, I found my brand new clutch a little difficult, mainly because it wasn't obvious where the friction point was by feel. |

| Well I learned on a 1950s MG roadster, so anything new seems incredibly easy to me lol |

This. Seriously, it's a great skill to have, and the WRX is a fantastic car, especially in Seattle. |

Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI 210pk 4Motion Sport & Style is 50k here.....in Euro's!!!
Pretty depressing thread :(
Anyways, DSG with 7 gears and double clutch is awesome technique though. And half a second faster then by hand (0-100km/h).
New front of the Tiguan is much better looking too.
I think the Tiguan might be the best choice. Also can be chip tuned to 260 HP :) |

Sorry, should have clarified I meant for someone who's never driven stick ever. Or maybe it was just me. :p |

I was going to say looks don't matter, but then I heard someone suggest a RAV4 and realized I don't wanna look like a real adult.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and driving on slick roads is... a tiny bit common. |
I have a 2005 3door Rav4 with 18 inch rims. Think it look better then most Tiguan's.
New RAV4 I think still looks better then the Tiguan, but lacks that great engine.
O, , at my age I am a real adult :(

How's the comfort of a WRX offroad compared to a SUV?
WRX of course is every boy's dream :) |
