Resistance Trance Mix

Started this today after getting frustrated with another track I've been working on. This one is based around Resistance by Muse. All instruments have been performed by me on my midi keyboard controller, nothing has been ripped from the original song or anything like that.
It's my first EVER trance track that I have finished and released, so constructive criticism is always welcome.

Hey Jones,
Welcome to the frustrating world of trance. :)
Without trying to rub it in, but yes it's an obvious first attempt. But don't be put down by that, we all had to start somewhere.
It has a very dry retro feel to it i.e. not much in the way of effects and the percussive element lacks drive to it.
The melody at the end is a bit EuroDisco, but that's probably because of the patch choice. Needs to be funked up a bit to make it more rythmical.
That said, I like to see someone who has a clear idea of how they want to go about achieving a vission that they have and you have that, which goes a long way.
Keep at it and look forward to seeing how you progress.

Thanks. Yes, this track was something that I completed in probably the space of 5-8 hours. Most of the software I'm using I'm fairly new too, so there's probably a ton of amazing things I can do which I don't even know about yet.
I have the instrument skills, especially on the piano so that helps a lot, I think it's mostly down to learning a decent structure, effects, and playing around with sounds that work well together.
I'm sure I'll learn a lot from the forums though.
