The Hurricane/Post-Tropical Storm Sandy thread

Hey New Yorkers,
I hope you're doing fine. Is it really as bad as the news predicted? Sandy was apparently demoted to the status of "tropical storm", but it's still no breeze, so I wonder if it really caused any trouble up there.
Except for the accidental deaths, I hope nothing major happens. |

I'm in south jersey, it's pretty nuts though we still have power.
Been seeing lots of pictures and posts that places on the jersey shore are completely flooded. Parts of lower manhattan and brooklyn are flooded with no power as well. |

| There's a fair amount of people without power here. There's been pretty high sustained winds since about 4pm EST, and it's been raining pretty hard since roughly 6pm EST. |
